Avenger GT 12 ls1
So here is my new project. It is a 1969 Fiber Fab Avenger GT 12 kit body. My plans for this are a pro street full tube chassis, narrowed 9" rear end with 5:13 gears, 29 x 16.5 rears and to power it, looking for a ls1/4l60E combo. Shooting for around the 2400# mark. Will take a little while, but hoping the end result is worth it in fun points

My other option is to make a street rocket out of it. Either way it will be a full tube chassis. I have 3 rear ends, one for each combo. Issue with making this a street car is titling it. Originally it was a mid-rear engine, rear wheel drive. Drivetrain consisted of a corvair transaxle and a 427 ci big block. I am converting to a front engine, rear wheel drive. Rear suspension will consist of a adjustable 4 link with a watts link(Street) or a 4 link with an anti roll bar set up(race). Front suspension is a mustang 2 with tubular uppers and lowers. Koni coil overs will probably be at all 4 corners. Still on the fence about what to do....

does altering the drivetrain configuration make titling it harder?
id make it a streetbeast for sure, but as uncommon as it would be to see it on the street, a drag car looking like that would be even more radical.
Im with the callies guys, it should have a 1:1 p/w ratio, shoot for 2400 hp

Well i was just informed that a friend of a friend has a crate ls1 that he wants $1500 for. I think with a 370 stroker kit, some wicked port work and a 76mm turbo, should get it moving pretty well. Kinda leaning toward making a drag car out of it, then there is alot less i have to deal with(Title, blinkers, liscensing...). If it becomes a drag car, it will primarily see 1/8 mile runs at our new local track. I also have a 1966 C-10 truck that will eventually get an ls...when budget permits. That also has me leaning in the direction of drag car..which also means lighter

As far as altering the drivetrain configuration, I would have to have it titled as what ever car I use the most of....I think the state reg is 35% of the vehicle is to be made with the donor car to be titled as....I read a few things, but didn't have alot time to read it through. So as far as I know, I now have a brand new crate ls1 now just to get a tranny...
