Default steering wheel buttons

Is it possible to get my steering wheel buttons to control a aftermarket radio. It is on my 1997 TA; I bought the car with the aftermarket radio and it was not hooked up to the steering wheel controls. Can I hook the aftermarket radio up to the steering wheel buttons?

Yeah but you have to make sure your aftermarket radio is compatible with it first. And there should be either instructions with the adapter or somewhere on here, just try a quick search for those.
