Default So I went Cheap with my Home Protection

Mossberg 500 Persuader
I added
ATI top folding stock
ATI Heatshield
ATI Shell Holder
5-Slot Tri Rail Shotgun Barrel Mount with LED Tactical Flashlight and a Laser

Was going to buy a Benelli SuperNova Tactical but for what I paid for this Shotgun and all my Extras I bought I still came out ahead

cheap and effective are rarely mentioned in the same sentence but in your case, I think you're more than protected

When it comes to pump shotguns it's really hard to go wrong IMO.

I've shot everything from $89 walmart Mossberg daughter brands to high dollar autos. Never had a problem out of any of them.

Yeah from the reviews I read and the people I talked too, Mossberg's tend to be a good gun, I paid $270 for it brand new, Next i am looking at getting a .22LR handgun plus a Rifle since .22LR bullets are cheap and easier to comeby....I watch too much Discovery Channel Waiting for that one big sunflare to knock out the worlds power grid

better brush up on your shooting if youre going to use a .22 for a defensive weapon. wouldnt be my first choice, but its better than nothing. i'd use the .22 for practice and then invest in something else later

LOL the .22 isnt for defense. Its for planting in the dead guys hand. "he must of found it when he broke in, and he pointed it right at me"

When you get a .22 pistol look at the rugers and buckmarks. I have a buckmark that i have put a good amount of time and work into and now it is an absolute blast to shoot. So fun everyone i let shoot it comes back grinning ear to ear with and one guy purchased the exact gun he liked it so much. Bought my wife a p22 and it is no were near as fun.

For a rifle you cant beat the 10/22.

No love for the .22lr? A .22lr will do the job for home defense, wouldnt be my first choice but they have proven to be effective. a .22 mag would be a better choice, PMR-30 FTW.

mossberg pumps are very tough guns, i bounced my 835 off of the interstate a few years back, gotten mud and dirt in it countless times and dropped it in the water and had it freeze, they never give up

and a 22 pistol can fit in your pocket very discreetly
