Default Fuel pressure prob.

I got 2001 trans am and i put a fuel pressure tester on the shrecider valve..correct my spellin sorry..and its only showin 10 psi.. Is this a fuel pump issue? I mean the car starts and dies after 10 secs.

Well 10 psi is way lower than spec. KOEO should be at least 60 psi. Before condemning the fuel pump, make sure its getting good power.

If it builds pressure, I would say it is not a wiring issue... the pump obviously works, but not well.

Pump could be bad, or a line or regulator in the tank has failed.

Does the pressure hold at 10psi, after you key on? If so it is not likely a leak.

Then I would consider it a pump or regulator problem.

I keep both in stock in interested.
