wiring up speartech harness
I left jon a message but still waiting to hear back so im trying this in the mean time. All I have left is to wire up the back up lights and torque converter.
My question is this. The torque converter has two wires labeled that go to a brake light switch (of course). But it doesnt say if either wire is side specific e.g. does the purple on need to have 12v all the time and the pink/black on only have 12v when the brakes are pressed? Or vice versa?
Also the back up lights.....is the green to power and the brown simply a ground?
This harness is off of an 04 GTO fyi.

I'll take this one.
On the brake switch wires, these are the 2 wires that go to terminals 3 and 4 of a 4 terminal switch.
The pink/blk wire IS the 12 volt feed wire to the switch, and the purple wire is the signal back to the PCM.
When your foot is off of the brakes the pink wire is connected to the purple wire (applying 12 volts to the purple wire); when you hit the brakes you are disconnecting the pink wire from the purple wire (zero volts to the purple wire).
On the back up lights it doesn't matter which way you hook the wires up. One wire goes to 12 volts key on, the other wire goes to the backup lamps. It works just like a wall switch in your house; when you put it in reverse the switch hooks the 2 wires together (applying 12 volts to the lights, and when not in reverse, the 12 volts is disconnected from the lights.

Thanks. Superboost, speartech did an amazing job on my harness. I recommend them over everyone else. I got it back in about 3 weeks and they received it about thanksgiving. Not exactly the best time for everyone since its the start of the holiday season but I was surprised to receive it so fast. They really make the harness straightforward and fool proof.
