Default LSR 231/239 w/LSL lobes vs XER 224/230 w/XE-R lobes

Any opinion on either of these cams

Comp cam: 54-458-11: 227/235 614/621 113
Comp Cam: 54-444-11: 224/230 581/588 114

My car is LS1 2002 camaro SS and the mods are full Bolt ons with stock 243 heads and I am using the car as daily driven and I want good power as will as good drivability

Which cam will ensure better engine life yet good power

Title is wrong it should be LSR 227/235 w/LSL lobes instead of LSR 231/239 w/LSL lobes

the smaller cam as you wont have piston to valve clearance and the bigger cam is designed for nice ported or aftermarket heads. if you are going to pay new price, might as well get you a specd eps cam from pat g or geoff at eps. good luck.

I just put the same cam in my '02 with stock 243 heads, hopefully we will both be happy

BTW my cam card reads 224/230 with .581/.592 lift, idk why the exhaust lift is different than whats listed on Comps website

Comp cam varies a lot from posted advertised specs to actual grinds.. sounds like what you got is still within spec so I wouldn't worry about it
