Clunking sound when I lightly push the brakes in
Trying to figure it out.
If I'm just coasting to a stop no noise.
Push the brake down hard, no noise.
Lightly push the brake I hear clunk clunk clunk clunk.
Any ideas?

Stock brakes?
Sounds like a warped rotor-slightly.
Time for new rotors and pads.
I've found that cheep rotors last almost as long as the expensive rotors. They will all warp with use especially in DD use in weather. Get decent pads but cheep rotors and be ready to just change the rotors at every pad change.
The upgrade to LS1 front brakes is a good idea but always use blank rotors. Drilled and/or slotted rotors offer no friction improvement-they lighten the rotors reducing it's thermal abilities and when heated, drilled rotors often crack.
