Default Are 1998 valve covers different?

I recently purchased a 1998 trans Am and am in the process of taking it apart to powder coat parts. While taking it apart I noticed there are no coil brackets, the coils mount right to the valve cover, and the valve covers have the bolts around the edges as oppose to the center mount from my 1999 TA.
