Yesterday i was driving to a friends house and all of a sudden my gto stopped switching from 2nd to 3rd and 4th, i heard NO noises or damage noise nor the mil light came on. Basically my car only runs on 1st and 2nd gear, im going nuts here, can anybody help me with this and tell wat could have cause this and how can i fix it.

-Also ive heard in other post about a shift selenoid, if so can anyone identify it or tell me where is located so i can replace it.

Was the transmission showing any signs of failing before this? Slipping while shifting from 2nd to 3rd at WOT, bouncing off the rev limiter at WOT? Sounds like the 3/4 clutches are done, common problem for these transmissions. Time for a built one my friend.

if you were just driven it normal and it had been shifting good there is a very good chance it is in the valve body or shift selonoid. even if you dont have a ses light it still may have a code i would get it scanned first

I alredy scanned it but there were no trouble codes, ok so how much are we looking here?
