need input on where to go next for a 2004 corvette
hello everyone im new to the forums and was looking for a little input. Ive currently been doing research for my father who has a 2004 corvette with the ls1 motor currently the only mods he has is a cold air intake and a magnaflow exhaust and was wondering what to do next that would get him the best bang for his buck. so far through my research most have you has recommended products from texas speed and was looking at one of the head/cam performance package
http://www.texas-speed.com/shop/cate...MID=3&catid=47
any thoughts if this is the right course to take and if so which package?

manual or auto. The more power you make the less streetable it will be to an extent. Bigger cam i mean. If your'e wanting a fun car to drive street wise Id get a cam spec'd by Pat G and have him tell you what head to go with too. everything has to work together

Texas Speed treated me right. Customer service was excellent, fair price and fast shipping. Tell them what your goals and budget are and they will work with you.

after all said an done, with the supporting mods, H/C/I isn't the best bang for the buck.
To make big power, you'll need a pretty extreme setup, drivability then begins to suffer.
This maybe tough for pops to grasp at first. but F/I is the way to go when it comes to bang for the buck. either a Single turbo or an A&A kit.

ok everyone thanks for the help ive let my father know what ive learned from here. he just wants a nice streetable car that makes some power but wants the car to be fun to drive on the street. to that extent what are his limits on the cams and what not. i dont know to much about these motors being young i know more about the import community lol. i told him he would be better to go with the headers before he goes into heads and camshaft but he is worried about the car being to loud does this become a problem? he uses the car on the street for crusing around and track once and awhile.

headers won't make the car louder if he has a good exhaust with the right mufflers.go to the ls vette forum to research for the best headers to work with his current cat-back.keeps the cats .

A&A or ECS Supercharger Kit will give you 150-200+ hp without any other mods, and be dead nuts reliable, all without sacrificing streetability of the car. The car will literally drive like stock until you get on it and get the revs up.

I dont know why I always read about SC's being best "bang for the buck". The REAL cost of supecharging properly for reliablity with all the odds and ends is closer to $ 10-11K !! By the time you factor in everything, drop a grand if not including a blower cam.

For 11k, you better be talking a dual fuel pump system, heads and cam, blower, and methanol injection. Good for 650+ to the wheels.
If you have a tuner who is worth a crap, even just a standard S/C kit will be very reliable. I ran a headers only Procharged C5 for 3 years and 15k miles and am up to 24k miles since boosted with only one idler pulley failure in 4 years(it was a used Procharger I used). The engine is at 131k miles, and still lights the tires up in 1st and 2nd up to redline.
