Default Backup Camera question

This is actually on my pick-up but I figured one of my ls1 audio guru's could help me quick. Installed a Pioneer double din p3200 in my sport track. How can you make it so the backup camera automatically kicks on when you shift into reverse? I'm pretty sure you can wire it like this in the harness somehow...

Maybe there's a more technical answer but all you 'd have to do is wire the camera to the reverse lights, so the camera knows that the car is in reverse.

That's right - there is a wire in the Pioneer harness designated for connecting to the backup lights so that the display switches to the camera when you put it in reverse (it will probably be a purple or purple with white wire).

Correct WhiteBird, attach the violet/white lead from the HU to the back up lights. Also make sure the camera setting is set to "Battery" (+).

Yeah these guys have it right. Not sure on the sport trac if there is a revers light wire anywhere in the front. I think on that one you will have to go back to the actual light.
