Default Tranny fluid over flow

I drained the tranny fluid before I removed the tranny and I refilled the tranny with the recommended 5 qt. I then started to backflow out the dipstick tube. Any ideas why? If I refilled what I emptied, should this really happen? Thanks again for your help.

You probably just had an air pocket. I have seen it happen many times over my years and it normally is not an issue other than the mess. HTH Vince

Yea air pocket or just simply put to much in. The 5qt isnt the exact amount either. I think you have to start with 3 or 4 qt and keep checking it. I just did mine last summer.
