Default t56 Compatibilty

Hi all, had to create a new account as I couldnt remember my old username,

but I have been looking for a transmission for my 2001 WS6. It wont shift from 2-3th, have 1, 4, 5 and 6 gears

Saw a transmission for sale, described as "2008 t-56/tr-6060 corvette transmission" would that work for my 2001? It has no bellhousing but I am assuming my current one would work.

Either that or find a cheap way of fixing my current one.

any help is appreciated

2008 tr6060 corvette transmissions are transaxles, won't fit in your Fbody as is.

If interested, there's info about the pre-2008 T56s and conversions here:

Talk to a sponsor in your area to see how much a rebuild would cost for your (probable) broken 3rd gear synchro.

oh well thanks, that was good deal too.

I have been reading and thinking and I started wondering if the Skip Shift is somehow enabled all the time? Is there something that can go wrong with it and will cause the Skip Shift to somehow get enabled when its not supposed too? Car is driveable, you just cant accelerate fast since you you have to go from 1 to 4.

thanks
