Default 4l60e shift problems

i bought a 97 transam and this is what it does
when i shift into reverse the car jumps forward and locks up
in neutral it goes forward and keeps going
drive 2nd and the rest of the gears all shift perfect
in parking it will jump again and lock up and if you give it gas it hesitates like its in gear.
any ideas on what it could be?
if its something simple enough ill just reair it or if its something nore expensive ill just get a used tranny

It sounds like the foward clutches are welded together. It needs to come out and get a rebuild.

Yep, your forward clutch pack has welded itself together. Time for a new trans or a rebuild. And also you might want to put a trans cooler on it to keep that from happening again.
