Default Gen III ecm - vvt (e40?)

Is there an output on a gen III computer I can use to control the vvt system from a gen IV engine?
05 l33 bottom end, 24x crank, can be either ctb or etb, going in a 98 jimmy, and want to maintain cruise control. I had just about given up since the newer computers wouldn't let me have cruise control, and then thought I might as well see if its possible to use a mid gen computer.

I'm going to keep looking into the e40 as it looks like my best shot, if someone knows for sure if I can/can't do this, that would be great!\

yeah, thinking if I really want to get the vvt working, I'm going to have to do something aftermarket.

Thanks,
