Default Headers for my 73 Camaro LS1 swap.. Will 00 SS headers fit??

I'm swapping a LS1 out of a 2000 Camaro into my 73 Camaro they don't appear to offer swap long tube heards for it and the 1st gen LS swap headers are way over priced does anyone know if Long tubes intended for the 2000 Camaro SS my motor came out of will fit my swapped 73 with little or no mods?? I can pick up a set of those for half as much as some painted swap headers.. Has anyone tried this?? Thanks for the help guys..

In general, most fo the 4th Gen header usually will work on the 1st gen F-Body with minor modification (usually the collector being repointed).

There shouldn't be too much to make them work on a 2nd gen, but that all depends on where and how you mount the engine (location). 1st and 2nd gen SBC header have been know to be swwaped between the two gen. But that all come down to the "DEPENDS"....

You might also consider using 2nd gen BBC header, cut the flange off and weld up some LS1 flanges and maybe some minor tweeking of some of the tubes.

unless you have a whole lot invested in them 4th gen headers ( coated, stainless, etc). you can find un-coated heard (not major brand) fairly cheap. If you had to modify them, you would need to get them recoated anyway.

But if your really going to Forced Induction.. it is a moot issue..

I used Edelbrock 65073 long tube headers on my 1981 T/A and they fit beautifully:

Not if I go supercharged instead of turbo(which it looks like I am) then I'll still need headers..
