Default Leds out of Hood scoops

I want to get some orange leds to glow through my hood scoops. What is the most efficient/cleanest way to do this?

Use the self stick LED strips from Autozone and connect them to a switch. I added them under my headlights and they are easy to connect to a power source and a ground.

The thing that I am wondering, should i mount them in my scoop itself, and run the wire down the side of the hood, or should i just mount them in my lid?

I think option 1 would be better but im unsure how to make it a clean install and not have ugly wiring all over the place.

If the LED's can be seen through the scoops with them mounted on the lid, you should go that route. Then you don't have to run the wires along the underside of the hood and into the engine bay.
