Default 99 ss swapping into 97 z28 body

I am wondering a few things about this.
First, I have heard there is an early and late 97 model.
I heard the late 97 is the same as the 98-99

Apart from that, Everything will swap over pretty easily.

It's just if the late 97 has the same dash and door scheme, that makes things alot easier. This particular 97 is a t top and I think i will be switching my hardtop stuff from my 99 to the 97 and trying to strengthen it a little, eventually. I know that's been done. Eventually I will swap back to the LS style front end. I might have to do that sooner than I thought because of the intake.. hmmm

I just can't remember what the particular differences between that late 97 and the LS body is. If I'm to take my motor, trans and ecu, will that go straight to the body harness, or are they different?

I just want my car back on the road, and this seems to be the cheapest way for me to do this. I have most of the parts, and an abundance of time. I just need to know what will work and what will have to be modified to swap the LS/T56 into a late 97 car. the 97 was previously a 6spd. I've searched but they just all ramble on about random ****.

AFAIK You'll need to swap k member etc into the 97. Then you'll have to modify the 99 harness to work in the 97 and swap the gauge clusters.

I have the 99 SS and can get the 97 Z cheap. Supposidly the late 97 models have the 98+ LS style interior, etc. So I'm wondering if i'll have less work to do than if i was doing this with a 93 model. Thats the main thing. If it already has the same dash, controls, gauges, etc.. and if the LT body computer and LS engine computer will go together with this specific (late 97) model car, is what I'm really wondering.

the computers will not go together the 99 pcm and instrument cluster are different then the 97. 98 pcm and engine wiring harness may work fine. i would have to look at a wiring diagram to make sure but i think it will work.

I was going to use my whole 99 engine harness, and was wondering if since the late 97 supposidly has the same interior as the 98, if it would work that way
