Default Did I mess up my new trans?

So I finally got my car together and am ready for exhaust to me put on. I called a tow truck to take the car in because i need some fab work done as well for the crossmember (ls1 foxbody). Anyways, the trans is newly rebuilt/upgraded 4l60e I did like the stickies suggested and added a quart of fluid to the new yank converter, then 4 quarts to the trans before inital start up. Once it was going I added another quart and the fluid level check ok.

I heat cycled the engine twice for the new springs. I havent driven the car just let it idle for maybe 5-10 minutes twice. Well yesterday I backed the car out of the driveway, about 20 feet, very slowly for the truck to pick up. Once I got in the street I couldnt grab any gears. It could be the crappy shifter i bought but im thinking it doesnt have enough fluid. It got dropped off at the shop and I was told an empty trans requires 10-11 quarts. Now did I possibly ruin the trans in that little time with the fluid level being too low or with it work fine once I add the correct amount? Like I said i never drove the car but 20 feet and at idle speed.

It's probably just fine unless you rev'd it a lot. I'd put some fluid in it and give it a try.

Yes you should be ok. Just make sure to top it off once you get it back.

Most tranny's take about 8 quarts from what I've seen.
