Default Help with head ideas..

I had my LT1 bored and stroked to a 383 stroker and my block zero decked. My heads are stock with new parts. I'm running 11-1 compression and it's almost impossible to find a high octane fuel here and was wondering what would be the best heads to go to and get great power also. Thanks

How are you figuring static compression without having selected a head or head gasket yet?

11 to 1 SCR should be no problem for 91-93 octane fuel.. are you saying you can't even get that?

Properly ported stock heads are the best option for most builds.
11:1 compression is no problem whatsoever for an NA LT1, hell the stock LT4 was 10.8 from the factory.

If you can get 91 octane 11.0 should be no problem at all and I bet with good tuning and depending on other factors you could go to 11.5 or so.

So did you build a stroker and have plans to put unported stock heads on it and put new "stock like" parts on those heads?

The stock heads where totally gone through with new parts and put on. When I went to get it tuned it fell on its face at around 4500 to 5000 rpm because of the knock sensor and was told that a higher octane fuel would work. I'm running 93 octane in it always. The shop that rebuilt my motor did the math and the compression was almost 12:1.

You really should install a set of ported stock heads by Advancedinductions or Elliotsportworks.com. No reason to go 383 high compression and run stock heads. Just run a thick head gasket if you want to lower the compression. But your 383 will run worlds stronger with ported heads; what cam are you running?
