How much sound deadener do I need?

How much sound deadener do I need? I apologize in advance if this isn't the right section. We don't have an interiors section so this seemed like the most appropriate place given that this is where audio is discussed.
Title says it, I need a square footage measurement. I have a 2000 TA vert. I intent to use a peel and place type of sound deadener. I want to cover the floor, doors, firewall area and some of the area behind the rear seats where the top folds down to. In case you guys are wondering why anyone would insulate a vert I'll let you know its to prevent exhaust resonance (has cutout). Thanks.
