Transmission for LS1?
I am curious about an LS1 swap. From what I have read, an automatic transmission from a V6 won't bolt up to the LS1 correct? But don't the V6 and the LS1 have the 460LE? So is it just a different bolt pattern, or do they have different transmissions and I just don't know it? Thanks in advance.

The Fourth Gen F-body V6 bolt pattern 4l60e is different from an LS1 4l60e it has the 60* V6 bolt pattern. The trans are basically the same as well just the different bellhouse.
Now the truck 4.3L V6 has the same bolt pattern as the LS1 which is the basically the standard SBC pattern.

Bop is Buick olds pontiac. Most of GM's modern v6's are based in on the Buick platform. There is one exception for the lsx bell pattern from what I understand and that is the the ls4 which came in the v8 W-body platforms (GP GXP, Impalla SS, Monte SS, Lacrosse Super) they use the bop bell pattern so that GM didn't have to build a special trans for them. I don't know if that means you could use the stock v6 trans in your F-body but I don't see why not. Hopefully someone will chime in if any of my info is inaccurate.
