Default Wheel Repair

Just a fair warning to all you guys out there about wheel repair. There is a local guy here that has a set of HP Evo's that he wants to sell to me. Two of the wheels have curb rash on them. I have been calling around to get an idea of what it costs to repair such damage. The least expensive repair I can find is $135 per wheel. So, the moral of this story is that if you think you are going to buy a set of damaged wheels, repair them, and have less in them than if you would have bought them new, your wrong. I am glad that I didn't buy these wheels without checking first. The bad thing is that the RPM 505 wheel is virtually identical to the HP Evo and you can find them for as little as $155.00 per wheel for the 18x9's. Doesnt' make any sense to buy used anymore. Just my opinion.

unless you can repair them on your own, then it's very worth it

I think the big issue is finding a lathe that will chuck up an 18" wheel. Don't have one of those in my garage....

I suppose it depends what you want to do with them, I've repaired rims with body filler and then repainted them and you'd never know

for a polished finish you're right though
