LS7 in 2006 LS2 CTS-V: Help with Misc Parts
Hey,
Before I run off and buy an OEM LS7 clutch kit ($225) and 20 lb F1 Racing Prolite chromoly flywheel ($245), I wondered if I could do a sanity check so that I don't get my transmission off and get stuck due to lack of proper parts. I'm mostly following this guide.
Extra things that think (?) I need:
1. 4x Torin T46002A 6 ton locking jack stands (24" max height)
2. Transmission adapter for a standard hydraulic jack
3. Craftsman 20-150 ft-lb torque wrench.
4. Redline MT90 or Royal Purple ATF fluid.
5. A good creeper (recommendations?)
6. New slave cylinder / master??
7. Remote bleeder??
If someone would explain the last two, I'd appreciate it.

If it's in good shape, your stock slave will just fine.
Get a slave spacer from TPIS or Katech for ~$90. Flush the system with a quality DOT 3/4 compatible high-temp fluid. If you can find a remote bleeder valve/hose, use it. If not, don't forget to notch the bellhousing a bit to give you access to the stock valve.
The spacer/stock slave has been in mine since mid 2007 (with the flywheel/clutch conversion) and works just fine.
If you're cam is mild, you can probably live with the 18 # flywheel. If not, life will be better with the 24-26 #. I've driven a heavily cammed LS2 GTO with an 18 # 'wheel and it just wasn't fun in traffic at all.
Get your Cadillac GM part numbers and then order from Scoggin-Dickey, or they can look up the stuff for you. The service is just as good and you'll save some cash.
