went out today and transmission is shifting way to early to a point that im in 4th gear at around 55 and the speedoder was acting a little funny it does shift through the gears manually. Shifts are tight and firm wondering if i can get any insight

I assume that your car has a 700r4 in it. Back in the day when I was doing RnR we would adjust the TV cable so the trans would shift at 18mph 1-2 shift and 28 mph 2-3 shift under medium light throttle. So shifting into 4th gear at 55 does not sound early to me in a stock application. If you want later shifts you will need to either adjust your cable to make the shifts later, modify the governor, or do some custom valve body work on the 3-4 shift valve. HTH Vince

No the 93 is not cable driven from what I can remember. IIRC it has regular plastic gears but it has an electronic housing in the trans. As far as your shifting early issue I would suggest leaving the shifter in the D3 position. This way you can move it to the OD position when you are ready for 4th. HTH Vince
