5.3 in an 84 Camaro
Question. I've read on thirdgen.org that the accesories from a 5.3 truck engine will not work in an 84 Camaro. Why is that? I will not be running the A/C. I have a TH350 in the car now. I'm wanting to swap it over to a 6 speed. What are you guys doing about the pedals and the console?

the alternator sits up too high and hits the hood. although i have seen a guy that used the bracket but used a smaller older alternator.
about the pedals i dunno. you probably have to get a clutch pedal setup from a third gen and whatever else goes with it.

Relocate the alt and figure out a solution for the waterpump neck hitting a car style TB cam then the truck accessories work fine
3rd or 4th gen manual pedals work, 3rd gens fit better but require the clutch master's pin to be cut off and a new one welded on the opposite direction. 4th gen are missing a mount hold and are in a roughly different location as a whole
Console is the same for manuals and autos. The shift plate changed and manuals are super hard to find
