Default LT1 - OBD1 - 4L60E to TH400 swap - PCM need flashing?

Street 95 OBD1 LT1 4L60E car.

I have the VSS on my TH400 going in - but my PCM is all programmed for my supercharger, gears etc

What exactly will happen by leaving the trans unplugged but the VSS wires?

Will the PCM still control all engine parameters with no input from the old trans?

I just don't want to deal with mail order PCM tuning unless I have to - and more changes may be coming soon (gear ratio, boost) so I hope to drive with the TH400 a bit then tune the PCM.

Is this feasible?

The car will run absolutely fine, but the check engine light might come on. I've removed a lot of 4L60-E's from LT1 cars and some of them set the CEL, some didn't. Your DFCO might not work...but you probably don't care about that.

If you're planning on re-doing the tune in a bit anyways after you make the rest of your changes, I wouldn't be concerned about it for now.

Post up where you're located, you might be surprised who is near you that wouldn't mind disabling the codes related to the 4L60-E...if you live near me I'll do it for you for free.

Of course this is good news!

I am in northwest Ct 06098 - nobody has LT-1 tuning around here as far as I know.
What is DFCO ?

I just want the cruise control/speedo so, with the VSS working from an LS-1 car already in the th400, I'm thinking my cars wires will tap in fine there.

Thanks.
