blown tranny?

blown tranny? so i have a 97 Z28 Lt1 auto no mods but CAI
accelerating mildly when it shoulda shifted into 2 it slammed and revved way high. then shifted into 2 but now shifts super high. i can let off and get it to shift. also there is no reverse now. and cannot manually shift it up. still revs high.

This could be several things but you need to pull the tranny out to rebuild it or replace it. I prefer rebuilding it. The problem is either worn out 1st and reverse clutches being burnt or fractured. Second possibility, and most likely is broken sunshell. Third, you have a check ball stuck in the valve body and if that’s the case you need to pull the valve body before you burn up the clutches. I’ll put my money on the sunshell either way it’s one of the 3.
