Default Stubby Antenna

My power antenna is going out and I'm thinking about replacing it with a stubby. This is what I found in a google search:

Anyone had any experience with these or another type? Is the reception as good as with a regular antenna?

The ones you're pointing out are a little too ricey for me. I prefer the short ones that still have a stock look.
