I put a Dana36 out of a 85 Vette in a 84 Z-28 22 years ago. It had the 3.07 gear ratio from a 5000 mile Z51 car and was stock. I had a roller cam 406 and a turbo 400 with a 10 inch converter . The only time that I took it to the strip it ran a 12.4 @112. I beat the **** outta it for 5 years of street racing and it never broke. There is a good chance that if I was running a manual trans it would not have lasted me a week but with the auto it was great.
