98 Trans-am Fuel Gauge
I am a soldier in Iraq and will be headed back to the states soon, My parents have my car a 98 Trans-am the fuel gauge does not work, I had it checked out and the guy at the Shop said its the Gauge not the sending unit. I don't know how reputable he is but I believe that if the gauge is Bad i have to get the instrument POD replaced......
Does anyone know an easier way of troubleshooting. I saw a guide on the Trap Door for the fuel pump through the trunk. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thank you for your service. Keep your head down.
To check the fuel level sender. The fuel pump needs to be removed from the tank. Using a meter ohm out the rheostat. Check the ohms at the lowest then raise the float to the highest and check the ohms. At the lowest the ohms should be 0 ohms at the highest should be about 90 ohms.
