So I did a head swap on my 98 LS1 and had to buy center bolt valve covers. I read a post that said if I got the 5.3L valve covers I would ned to getthe coil brackets too. Unfortunatly this info turned out to be wrong since the the LS1 coil packs are too big for the 5.3L coil pack brackets.

At first I was just going to cut the brackets so the coild woould fit but the coild would sit too high and the plug wires would not be long enough.

So my question is what coil bracket could I use on the 5.3L valve covers that would let me use my LS1 coils and place them low enough so the plug wires reach the coils.

Yhup. All coil brackets mount to the valve covers the same way.

The only exception is the 97-98 LS1 and the current LSA/9. They have coils that mount singly directly to the valve covers.
