Help / Opinion with removing power steering
My power steering pump has been leaking something fierce and the motor is starting to wear. I have read all the threads here about removing it and I think I am leaning that way vs. trying to repair it. (very low budget, not a daily driver, etc.)
My question is how hard is it to steer without it? For example when the car stalls and the power steering is out, is that hard to turn or am I also fighting the pump and it will be a little easier when it is removed and I have completed the bypass.
(skinnies on the front are in the plan but just not right away)
Thanks for the help everyone and I love this board. (working on cutting out the dead fuel pump as we speak)

I drove with a burnt up pump for almost 3 months and skinnies and almost 7 months with regular tires. No fun, I hated my car for It.
Drove It without it for a few months, not as bad...
For something you drive on the street for more than 2-3 hours a week, big Hell no for me.

Mine went out about a year ago and its hard as hell to turn the wheels with the car at a stop.
You could go the route of putting in a manual steering rack but that would cost even more than a cheap rebuilt pump. I would just put a rebuilt pump in it.
