'96 Corvette 4L60E in a '96 Firebird?
Hey, so I'm hoping this is a simple question but I can't find a definitive answer to save my life.
I've read that the tail shaft on the Corvette's 4L60E is shorter than the tail shaft on the one in my ws6, as well as not having a mount for the torque arm. Does anyone know if you can the tail shafts simply be swapped?

Maybe tail shaft is the wrong term. I mean the casing that bolts on to the end of the trans. It has the torque arm mount on it. The problem is that the mount needs to be there, just don't know if I'm going to be able to swap that end piece to the 'vette trans.

Its not going to work. You have a few issues here outside of the tail housing. The vet case does not have bolt holes in the rear of it for a trans mount. Also the output shaft in that trans is an inch shorter than what should be in your car. Also the front of that case uses a different inspection cover bolt pattern that what is used in your car. Its just not going to work. HTH Vince
