Default free cam install from the dealer hell yeah

my 06 V is still under warranty, only 40k miles, went in today because my last 2 oil changes have had to be at 1300 miles, losing 1.5 quarts in 1300 miles is crazy

sooooo buddy at the dealer looks it up as says, its a known problem, we will replace the pistons and rings per what gm says to rid the issue

im like ****, ive replaced a rear, dash unit, nav unit, starter and now the motor has to be blown apart wtf

Ive got a maggie and a blower cam/springs/pushrods waiting to be installed, so I asked hey could you throw in this cam instead of the stock one, he agreed im stoked free cam install from the dealer hell yeah

Don't celebrate until you see a bill, or lack thereof .

I had an 01 z06 before my V and it ha a terrible oil consumption problem too. I had an awesome gm tech who installed a cam for me too when replacing the pistons and rings. Always makes me happy to hear stories like this! Congrats!

I had to pay an hour in labor to install the springs and such. And for a few extra gaskets. Let us know how it works out.

When I was driving my old turbo Mazda's, I was at the dealership almost every week for something.

I made good friends with the parts counter guys, and bought them lunch a few times.

They still throw me freebies here and there. Make sure to buy someone lunch for saving you $1200. Everyone loves a free lunch! Especially pizza...
