So I bought some 243 heads from a member on here, who sold them as LS6 Z06 heads that where removed from his 2003 Z06, and even stated these are the original heads that came on the car and have never been removed. Also mentioned they come with the original LS6 valve springs.
Upon recieving the heads I saw that the valve springs are black..Did 2003 243s come with black valve springs? They are beehives, but dont have any yelow stripes on them.

The seller told me Z06's came with red, yellow and black valve springs..I can't seem to find any info on black onest. I want to convince myself that these are actuall LS6 243s and not LS2 243s but cant. What do you guys think?

My LS2 243s had yellow springs on them. They sucked anyway, change them out when in doubt. The last thing you want is a broken spring or valve float.

Sounds fishy to me, I've never seen them black before.

nope just two colors. 01 z06 had blue springs and the 02-04 zo6 had yellow as well as the ls2 243's
