cleaning oil pickup tube I need to clean out my pickup tube, and wanted to know how to remove it, I can't seem to find anything about it anywhere.

You could just take off the bottom plate of the pump and leave it attached if you really want to clean it. I don't ever use one that has been installed and removed from the pump. The interference fit will not be the same.

Well, I had a valve spring where the inner spring broke a piece off and ripped the valve seal to shreds, sending all of that into the oil pan. Is welding a new one on the preferred method?
