Default 2000 WS6 tranny mounts replacement

Hi,

I'm pretty new to this forum as I am a new owner of a 2000 WS6. I just bought the car last week and ran into my first problem. After I took it to a reputable dealer serviceman, he recommended a few fixes. One of which is to replace the transmission mounts. Is this a common maintanence/repair for a T/A around 100k miles? (Mine has 96k and is an M6.) If not, what do you think caused the mounts to go out so fast? Is there anything I should know before performing this fix? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

It's not hard or expensive. I'm going to do mine myself, and you can get a poly mount for $20. All you need to do is lift the front up and put it on stands. Then jack up the transmission with a block of wood between the jack and the tranny. Unbolt the old mount, bolt in the new one, and then bring the trans back down. Done.
