is a 4l60 from a s10 2wheel drive the same as a 4l60 from an f body? i was thinking about getting a 4l60 from a s10 and building it to "ls1 specks" any info or insite would be helpfull.
here in central ohio 4l60's from f-bodys are a bitch to find and expensive !

You'll need to swap an F-body tailshaft housing. The S-10 will not have a torque arm mount. It may have a different bolt pattern on the bellhousing. The 4.3 shares a similar architecture as a gen 1 small block. I'm guessing the pattern is different.

the tranny i would get would be from a 99 s-10 V-6 or newer. as for the torque arm mount...its going into a 80 transam with a 2000 5.3, so the torque arm is not inportant.
