Default Hydraulic hose questions... Manual trans

Before goin to a cruise-in I met up with some friends. When I got in my car to leave I couldnt push my clutch pedal down. Yank the trans, clutch is destroyed. While the trans was out I wasnt able to push the clutch pedal all the way down. My friend got in and kicked it to the floor. When he did, the inner O-ring of the quick connect fitting popped halfway out. We pushed it back in and the plastic part with the hole was workin properly and the car was able to start (w/o the hose connected).

What does this white plastic part do (the inner plastic)?

How does the quick connect fitting work?

I had everything hooked up and runnin. Started to bleen the clutch and never got any pressure. I removed the master cylinder and when disconecting the fitting the hydraulic line broke. I am able to make a new line and can figure out a way to connect it all but will it work properly? will I have too much pressure or flow?

I have a spare braided hose that goes from the master the to the slave. All you doo is nock the roll pin out of the master remove line and install this one if you are interested $25.00 shipped.

Thanks, Ill have to think about it.

I would really like to do away with the fitting. I can make another line with different ends. Im just not sure if the fitting controls flow at all or what else it may do.

You shouldn't be able to press the clutch pedal at all with the braided line disconnected, as the fluid has nowhere to go. If you did force it down, you probably blew a seal in the master cylinder. I would bet the master is toast now and needs replaced.

I got a new master. Just need to figure out the hose

When the pedal was forced, it blew an o-ring out of the fitting and fluid shot out
