Removing and reinstalling a starter
It will be my first time removing the starter from my Z28. It has the 6 speed. What should I be aware of when removing it and reinstalling?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Step 1: Disconnect Battery.
I don't have the M6, so I don't know if there are any differences, and both times I removed my starter, the engine was out so I'll let someone else comment on step 2. Should just be the obvious, removing the wires, then unbolting from the motor and slide it out (or let it fall). Use jack stands and be safe. Good luck.

1. Disconnect the battery
2. Remove the y-pipe (if it's in your way!)
3. disconnect wires and be sure to put the nuts back in the starter so that you remember where they go for reinstallation.
4. Remove two bolts, one long, one short.
Then the starter should slide right out.

Ok cool, thanks guys! The only reason I'm asking is just incase I have to remove it to get to the passenger side O2 sensor. I've heard it's been done though without having to do that so we'll see how it goes tomorrow.
