Unhappy 1997 Z28 wouldn't start temporarily

My car did something weird last night and I'm concerned. I was driving it hard on the freeway last night(I rarely abuse the car, but the occasion arose) and I stopped to get gas. After I put gas in, I turned the key to the on position and all the lights and radio and everything came on as normal(battery was fine), then I turned the key more to start it and nothing happened. All the lights and everything stayed on as normal, it wouldn't crank, nothing. I kept trying for a few minutes with the same result. Then it magically came back to life. I turned the key and it fired right up.

Just wondering what could have caused this? Seemed really weird to me.

May be the clutch start switch.

Or it could be the ignition switch.

What's the best way to go about testing both the clutch start switch and the ignition switch, being that the car is working fine at the moment?

You can't really troubleshoot things that are working too well. The clutch switch can easily be jumpered around or tested with a meter. It really takes investigating when it won't work (as annoying as that is).
