Default Transmission Problems 99 Trans Am **VIDEO INSIDE**

for some reason it will not shift to 3rd. we tried manually shifting it but it would still not work... any ideas?

Well if its does not neutral where 3rd should be I would have to think either the 2-3 shift valve is stuck or the 2-3 solenoid is. The only other possibilitie is the 3-4 clutch piston is completely blown out and venting the oil which would also cause only 1-2 as the 3-4 clutch oil is used to release the 2nd servo. This is all provided that the actual command for the 2-3 shift is actually being given.

we can feel it wanting to shift but it wont. it also wont go into 4th (i guess since its not going into 3rd) but we can feel it jerk at the point that it is suppose to shift into 3rd it just wont catch i guess

the transmission shop said that the clutch packs are completely shot and something about having to drill a hole to allow more fluids so it doesnt put more stress on the transmission while it downshifts. he had to drive it about 15 miles at 35mph/3000ish rpms so could that have done more damage to it?
