oil pump question and rod bolts
well im building a LQ4 for my truck the motor is a brand new gm crate motor. im just wondering if the stock oil pump will be fine or if i should do a ported ls6 unit.
also should i do a set of ARP rod bolts or a set of KATECH ones from what ive read the ARP ones are longer and weigh alittle more then the stock ones so you should have the rods taken to a machine shop if you run the ARP bolts. or should i even bother with the rod bolts.

The newer rod bolts shafts are larger diameter than previous 1's and they're a kind of an ARP wavelock copy and would be good to at least 450whp . The main issue is what RPM's are You planning on reving to . Stocker bolts are good safely to 6300 day in and day out . The ARP sportsman bolts weigh 2 grams more each bolt than earlier GM rod bolts . I believe the later GM bolts weigh pretty close to the same as ARP's sportsman bolts .

I going to spin my motor like you and i already ordered my arp pro-series bolts.
My body used those in his Ls2 vette procharged 575hp 580tq on a mustang dyno and just put them straight up with now machine work and all.Still running perfect after 1 year.
So just going to bolt up them with machine work.
