Default What clutch should I get?

I'm in the market for a new clutch and don't know which route to go. With that being said here are my mods, going in next week are a tourquer v3 cam, tsp stage 2.5 ls6 heads, and in a few weeks a 100 shot. The mods I already have are kooks header, magna flow catback, volant CAI. Thanks in advance for your input.

I have a brand new in box stage 4 competition clutch and light weight flywheel. The entire kit was $795 I believe. Look it up their site. Believe it's competitionclutches.com.

I'll go $550 shipped

I had intentions of running it on the street. According to the site, it's a street/race clutch which I figured was the way to go since I intended to get into some good mods. I'm still in school at the moment so big mods are in the distance. Bought the clutch and never installed it. If u change ur mind... Lmk. Ill install it sooner or later unless I sell it.

I'm sure most people will end up suggesting the clutch they themselves run. That said, I have the LS9 kit and really like it. Drives pretty much like stock but revs way faster and should handle quite a bit more power.

From personal experience and from others as well, stay far away from SPEC clutches. People seem to like the LS7 and the LS9 clutches as well as monster and diamond. With a lot of power it's easy to kill the LS7 from my experience. Had two and both pressure plates gave up the ghost fairly quickly with the Maggie. An LS3 stroker V has broken two LS9 pressure plates already. Personally, I have an Exedy twin disk and it's ****!!! Best clutch I have driven by far.

The straps on the ls9 plates broke, not the plate itself. He thinks strapless would work well.

My monster stage 3 has been excellent for me. Nice street manners and it grips very hard. No complaints so far, and I dd my car.

Well usually one considers the straps part of the pressure plate considering they hold the plate to the cover.

I guess I thought wrong. I wonder why I thought there was a strapless alternative.

I HATE my MONSTER clutch and all I am trying to do (for the last 4 GD months)is get my car to pass smog so I can stick it up on blocks to yank the clutch.

The clutch chatter was so bad it rattled the header loose on the passenger side, resulting in a blown header gasket and a P0174 code being thrown so it wouldn't pass smog.

Today, I throw a P0171 code.

After inspection I found two header nuts loose, and a blown gasket.

This is after re-torquing everything last week.

In between this crap, I was throwing P0300 codes and I found that the ignition wires were rattled apart and intermittent.

I still haven't passed smog.

Check your header mounting bolts/nuts.

Also, check for redspots under the car from transmission fluid being shaken out.

I have the original street twin(1200hp or something rating) in my mustang and its too much of an on/off switch for a daily like the cts-v. Sombitch should be great at the track though. Id go with the RST or an RPS twin disk.
