CAR IS LEAKING OIL....HELP PLEASE...
Every morning when I go out to start my car I'm greeted with some oil sitting underneath the car
..not as much as there used to be...before I had a leaky oil filter, I changed the oil yesterday...
One spot is from the supercharger, it tends to weap a drop every now and then...
When I had the car on the lift the main leak I saw was from the old oil filter, the other stream I saw was on the drivers side coming from the top of the motor, up by the rear driver side breather valve on the valvecover...could this be blow by??
Or is it just oil from the valvetrain getting spit up on to the breather valve, from what I can see the filter in the back is soaked...
The one I have on the passanger side valvecover drips oil too, and it burns on the header...the drivers side also burns on the header, and the smoke comes inside the cabin..
Getting frustrated here.... <img border="0" alt="[bang head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" />

Yea, thats what I thought....what would probably be the first mechanical part of the motor to let go, rings then piston(s)?

Before pulling the motor do a leakdown test on all cylinders.
With a non vacuum assisted PCV setup like you have you will get blowby even with the motor being ok.
You may only need to baffle the valvecovers properly.
You have the PCV and fresh air line completely blocked from the Throttle body right?
Otherwise you will pressurize the valvecover.
Good Luck,
Chris

Ditto on Chris ARE 360, is there still baffles on inside of valvecovers? IF not than oil dripping from breathers is to be expected. Leak motor, 10% or less is good, testing hot gives better numbers, 1 or 2 hi leak rates may indicate rings lined up, not a problem. Do you see mist flowing out of breathers when running? If you have excess blowby you will see huffing when breather or oil fill cap is removed.

Your engine has massive blowby. The crankcase pressure is what's causing oil/fumes to come out of the breather.
The only fix, is to rebuild the shortblock.
