Question New airlid, have idling probs now

Hi,
I just put on my TSP airlid. When I started the car up, it sounded a little rough. It ran OK for a while then, I let it warm up a full 20 min, ran the AC, the fans went on. When I blipped the throttle, it ran up fine, but when the rpms went down, it went down to 400 rpm, sounded like it was gonna stall for a second or two, then went back to normal rpm at 750. This happened at any time during the 20 mins i was running it and ran the engine up and let off the gas.
No ses lights or anything abnormal other than this occurred. I have never had this car do this with the stock intake.
No other mods on the car, I have 2001 ws6, it has the breather tube (which got a small KN filter to put on it per TX Speed, and my car has the IAT (incoming air temp) sensor. Weather was fine here, about 55 degrees, sunny.
Any ideas on why this is happening and how to keep the idle at normal?
Chris

Sounds like you have an airleak - check the bellows-to-MAF and the bellows-to-TB clamps.

The other possibility is that you somehow damaged the MAF wires. (?)

When ever you rev it up do you wrap it out to like 4-5g. Mine will do that when I wrap it out like that. Will drop to like 500 then it will find idle.

Does it even for a mild rev up like 2000-2500, and will drop down even if I bring it down pretty slow most of the way then drop throttle at 1500. I don't think I see any gaps in the connections. But the new lid seems longer and my bellows is squished up. Is this usual?

you might need to trim the bellows sounds like you have a leak
