Default Driveshaft

Well I bent my drive shaft pretty damn bad this past weekend and was wondering if a drive shaft out of a v6 fbody would work in a ls1 t56 car. Does it have to be from a t5 car or can it be an auto. Planning on making a trip to the junk yard this Saturday to find one.

GM parts layout shows a 2 piece driveshaft for 93-02 V6.

Yes it will work. I swapped an LS1 w/ a T56 into my '99 from the 3.8lt 5spd and the driveshaft fit perfectly. I was using my stock 2 piece pos DS then upgraded to a stock aluminum DS from a M6 w/ T56. No problems whatsoever, fits and works perfectly.

Edit: Oh, I misunderstood what you were saying.

Yes, it's a 2 piece steel piece of crap. Wait around for an aluminum one!
