Default aluminum foil inside of the lid......

its real hot in memphis right now, and my car gets slower after it heats up....would lining the lid with aluminum foil help control the heat soak??

The air is moving fast enough IMO that it wouldn't show any gains.

try a 160 degree theromostat and turn the fans on earlier. A true cold air intake (SSRA) would help too.

Reprogram fans. I use a stock t stat and low spd on 203f off 196f high spd on 208f off 204f. High spd fans very raley come on. Most of the time the car stays 194f-203f even in the hottest weather we have had in Ct. I also have my condensor gone (ac deleted) trans cooler on the radiator, and ssra right in front. Even with those things the cooling system is perfect.
You also might wanna try cleaning your condensor and radiator. Debres like leaves, grass get caught on there and trust me it makes a difference. Also do a coolant flush.
The ssra does a great job of keeping iat just about the same as oat. Without a cai it take forever and a day to lower iat at a good rate of driving speed.
