Default Can I swap my 4th gen 10 bolt into my '78 TA?

You can, but you would have to modify the axel to accept the 2nd gen suspension or mod the 2nd gen for the 4th gen suspension. Best bet is to get some brake brackets for disc brakes for the stock second gen rear and . The rear in your 78 is a hell of a lot stronger (if its an 8.5) than the 4th gen 10 bolt.

It would be a lot of work to do so just for rear disc brakes. Then again going through the hassle is part of the joy as well of building a vehicle.
